PRECISION AUTO PARTS

PLEASE READ THE TERMS & CONDITIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE PLACING YOUR ORDER.
 

WARRANTY

  • Precision Auto Parts provides a Standard 30 Days ‘Parts Replacement Only’ Warranty.
  • The 90 Days Warranty option, if available and purchased separately, extends the Standard Warranty Duration by 60 days.
  • All other terms and considerations remain the same under the 30 and 90 Days Warranty.
  • Warranty terms and conditions will Not be valid and enforceable outside of the warranty period.
  • Warranty Period will auto activate from the delivery date of the unit, as recorded by the shipping carrier’s documentation indicating purchaser’s delivery acceptance.
  • Warranty will not cover any labor costs and slash or storage fees.
  • The warranty is non-transferable and only applies to the original purchaser. 
  • In the instance of a defective part being delivered, Precision Auto Parts obligation is limited to repairing or replacing the part/components covered under this warranty. If replacement of a part is required and a replacement part is not available, Precision Auto Parts reserves the right to refund the customer the cost of replacement parts value not to exceed the original purchase price. 
  • Precision Auto Parts, at its sole discretion, may often replace the original defective part with another used functional assembly of like kind with mileage equal to or greater than that of the original unit. 
  • Replacement of any component or, transmission, or engine covered under this warranty will be considered a repair. It will not change the length of time or terms of the initial warranty. 
  • All warranty claims must be submitted within the warranty period, along with a copy of the original invoice.
  • Engines are guaranteed against knocking and excessive smoking. Engine warranties are limited to defects in the blockheads, Pistons, Crankshafts, camshafts, rockers, and oil pumps. All other included parts are considered accessories or extra parts. At the same time, engines may come with additional accessories, but they are not always guaranteed with every shipment and are NOT covered under warranty. Components not covered under warranty include all bolt-on accessories, electrical control modules, wiring sensors, or ancillary items that may have been inadvertently shipped with the unit. The warranty is voided if the engine heat tab is melted or removed.
  • Transmissions are warranty to be in good working order against any slippage or shifting failures. Any accessories, such as but not limited to modulators, governors, electrical control modules, linkage mounts, seals, gaskets, or fluids, are NOT covered under warranty.
  • Any and all claims or damage resulting from failure to maintain proper coolant, fluid, refrigerant, or lubrication levels overheating of any type of abuse, negligence, freezing, personal damages, fire, flood, vandalism, theft, collision, acts of God, competition or racing usage is not approved by the vehicle manufacturer, improper load capacity or improper towing usage of contaminated fluids, coolants or lubricants for any reason misuse, road conditions, riots or acts of war are not covered. 
  • Labor cost accommodation or storage fees incident, or consequential damages such as physical injuries or property damages, medical expenses, telephone or rental charges, lost wages or earnings freight, shipping or towing of a vehicle, or anything associated in the way of per diem expenses are not covered under this warranty. 
  • Any and all commercials for higher use, sporting or competitive use, are not covered. 
  • Any and all breakdowns caused by mechanical alterations not meeting manufacturers’ specifications are not covered. 
  • Factory recalls or resultant breakdowns are not covered. 
  • Any cost or expense associated with obtaining repair estimates or work performed to determine the cost or estimate for repair is not covered. 
  • Breakdowns caused by excessive wear and tear for the year and mileage of the vehicle are not covered under this warranty. Breakdowns that occurred while under another warranty of any kind are not covered. 
  • Breakdowns covered by manufacturer warranty or recall distributor or repairers guarantee any other ridden warranty, government or court orders decrease or settlements, or any valid or collectible insurance policy are not covered. 
  • Leaking gaskets or seals are not covered. We do not warranty on oil leaks/damage on engines or transmissions due to non-replaced seals, gaskets, or filters. Any failure due to transmission coolant lines not being flushed during installation is not covered. The transmission may need to be relearned, reset, or flashed by the dealer, and the electronic valve body may need to be replaced; This is not covered. External switches and sensors on transmissions are not covered. 
  • Though our parts are cleaned. The external appearance of an engine or transmission may include dirt, oil, rust, or other debris. This is not uncommon in the industry. The exterior visual appearance of used auto parts is not covered under warranty. 
  • Claims occurring outside the United States are not covered. 
  • Claims initiated outside of the warranty period are not covered. 
  • Once a claim has been initiated, the purchaser may only continue to operate the vehicle once a claim determination or decision has been made by Precision Auto Parts. Continued operation will void the warranty. 
  • Improper Engine or Transmission installation or installation by non-automotive service excellence. ASE-CERTIFIED MECHANICS or Non-Licensed Automotive Repair Facility (LARF) will avoid the warranty.

For the warranty to be valid, Standard Recommended Installation/Replacement Procedures must be followed. Failure to provide proof of these steps being taken will void the warranty. Upon installation, the purchaser agrees to follow the vehicles regular maintenance as the manufacturer recommends and may be required to provide proof of such activities in case of a warranty claim.

ENGINE

Engines are complete assemblies, including manifolds, oil pans, timing belts and covers, fuel injection, or carburetors. We guarantee only the long block. The manifolds, gaskets, seals, hoses, oil pan, timing belts, covers, fuel injection, or carburetor are not. Accessories such as, but not limited to, turbos, starters, air compressors, alternators, power steering pumps, optical distributors, or electrical water pumps are usually not included nor under warranty in regards to the sale and/or warranty of an engine. If these parts are purchased separately, they will be under warranty. Other items that may need to be replaced are the water pump, distributor cap, spark plugs, wires, and possibly the timing chain. Precision Auto Parts will not be held liable for these parts listed as they are considered high-wear parts.

Recommended Installation / Replacement Procedures.

  • Drain and replace engine oils to manufacturer-suggested levels.
  • Replace oil, air, and fuel filters.
  • Replace valve cover gaskets
  • Replace the oil pan gasket and rear main seal
  • If needed, replace timing gear chains or belts and gaskets.
  • Replace the thermostat and gasket.
  • Flush the cooling system and refill it to the proper level.
  • Install new spark plugs and wires.
  • Install new belts and hoses.

TRANSMISSION AND TRANSFER CASE

We guarantee that it will shift properly gears to be good and bearings to be good. Before assembly, thoroughly clean all transmission components, including the oil pan, and replace the oil and filter in all automatic transmissions. You must replace all seals and gaskets prior to installation. Flush and flow test cooler and lines. Fully engage torque converter in front pump. Manual transmission: You must install a new clutch, pressure plate and slave cylinder. You’ll also need to have your flywheel tuned before installation. Fill and check the fluid to ensure proper levels.

Recommended Installation / Replacement Procedures.

  • Drain and replace transmission fluids to manufacturer’s suggested levels
  • Replace all seals.
  • Install a new filter kit.
  • Flush and inspect cooling lines.
  • Align and engage the torque converter into the front pump.
  • Fill the transmission with the manufacturer’s specified fluid.
  • Clear all transmission computer codes before starting or operating the vehicle.
  • Adjust the throttle position sensor cable.

OTHER PARTS

  • Instrument and speedometer clusters: We do not guarantee mileage for particular vehicles such as, but not limited to, Lexus, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and Cadillac, the customer will be required to take the cluster to a dealership to have the unit reprogrammed. Precision Auto Parts will not return or refund any units until the customer can provide written documentation from an authorized dealer proving the part was reprogrammed and still malfunctioning.
  • Carburetors: We guarantee only the ability to be rebuilt.
  • Rotors are guaranteed to be machinable only since normal use can leave them slightly warped. They will be guaranteed against cracks or nonmachinable surface damage.
  • Cylinder heads are guaranteed not to be warped or cracked. Rings and valves may need to be re-machined. Orders of “Block Only” (short or long block) are guaranteed to be rebuildable only.
  • Electrical items such as engine computers and body control modules. Transmission module transfer case modules are only guaranteed to have the correct manufacturer part number and are not sold for testing purposes. All electrical items have a replacement warranty only. Up to one replacement will be sent in order to rectify a non-working module. Modules may need to be reset by the dealer. The part can only be returned once verified by the dealer that the part has been appropriately reset. Electrical parts that have been modified in any way will not be refunded.
  • Struts are sold with a working condition warranty only. We do not guarantee to actual ride quality of the shocks or springs. We do guarantee that the springs and Strut Tower will be in working condition. However, shocks may need to be replaced to improve ride quality.
  • Control arms are guaranteed to be true and straight. Any rubber bushings or nonmetal parts attached to control arms are not guaranteed. Bushings and ball joints are not guaranteed on parts.
  • Seals in turbos are not guaranteed to be perfect. These seals may need replacing during the warranty.
  • Doors are complete assemblies; however, they are not guaranteed to come with accessories like windows, window regulators, handle hinges, or interior panels. We only guarantee the door shell.
  • Other Body Parts such as hoods, vendors, bumpers, quarter panels, and header panels are not guaranteed to come with hinges with ornaments, latches, trim headlights, or grills. Specific colors may be requested for body parts, but a color match is not guaranteed. We recommend that body parts be repainted to match your vehicle. Body parts that do not match the color of your vehicle will not be available for return for that reason.

     

CLAIM PROCESS

All warranty claims must be filed within the warranty and include a diagnostic printout from a licensed automotive repair facility. LA RF, for automotive service excellence. ASE-certified mechanic with unit installation, invoice, and receipts showing recommended installation/replacement procedures have been followed within 30 days of the warranty activation. Email full name and contact information with all paperwork and photocopy image of all receipts to info at feedback@precisionautoparts.us

  • A representative will contact you within 24 – 48 business hours, subject to significant holidays.
  • Delivery acceptance is required to initiate any warranty claim. Parts refused at the time of delivery will be subject to a 25% handling and restocking fee, and the purchaser will pay for all shipping charges.
  • Any defective parts must be made available for inspection upon Precision Auto Parts request for initiating a warranty claim.

CANCELLATION & RETURN

  • All returns and cancelations require prior authorization.

  • In the event that the part is proven defective, Precision Auto Parts reserves the right to replace the defective part first. If a replacement is not available through Precision Auto Parts, a refund for the cost of the part may be issued upon return of the defective part. No refunds are provided unless the defective part is returned within the warranty. in the event a reorder is made prior to the return of the first part, Precision Auto Parts will require payment for the 2nd part and will refund the initial order upon return of the defective unit. Return shipping costs will not be reimbursed upon contacting Precision Auto Parts. Please provide a detailed written explanation as to why the part is being returned

  • Returning the part is the purchaser’s responsibility and is not covered by Precision Auto Parts. Only the initial delivery shipping charges are covered by Precision Auto Parts and are not billed to the purchaser. Precision Auto Parts must be provided with a return tracking number when the item is returned. The item must be returned within seven business days of return authorization. The return address will be provided at the time we are contacted. Parts must be returned to the location address provided. Refunds are issued once the returned unit has been inspected and verified to be the original unit shipped and in the original condition. 

  • This warranty covers defective parts and items sent incorrectly. We offer a part’s only warranty* no labor costs and / or storage fees are covered for any parts sold by Precision Auto Parts.

  • Once the order has been placed and processed, the purchaser chooses to cancel the order 25% handling and restocking fee will apply. 

  • Once an order has been placed, processed, and shipped, the purchaser chooses to cancel the order in addition to the 25% handling and restocking fee. The purchaser will pay for all shipping charges.

  • Incorrectly ordered parts or canceled orders are subject to a 25% handling and restocking fee, and the purchaser pays all shipping costs for return and replacement. Incorrectly ordered parts or canceled orders for any reasons are customers’ responsibility. 

  • No refunds or credits are allowed under any circumstances for returned engines and transmissions not in their original condition as shipped to the purchaser, excluding items damaged in shipping and verified by a Precision Auto Parts representative. 

  • If the part is damaged at the time of delivery, both purchaser and delivery driver must write the damage and sign their names in the delivery received. Also, if a damaged or incorrect part is received, the purchaser must notify our customer service department by email and telephone call within 3 business days—72 hours of its arrival. Do not send the item back before receiving instruction / RETURN MERCHANDISE AUTHORIZATION (RMA).

MANDATORY MAINTENANCE

Acceptable records documenting purchaser adherence to the vehicle manufacturer’s required maintenance are required in the event of a warranty claim.

Acceptable records must be issued on the date of maintenance issued in the name of the purchaser, be signed by the purchaser, and electronically generated issued by the commercial automotive service facility performing the maintenance, including mileage date, vehicle identification number, year make, and model, and have a record of payment and service performed. Handwritten information on records, receipts, or repair orders about or documenting required maintenance is unacceptable.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS

When authorizing or using the credit card for part purchases, the purchaser waves all rights to dispute any set charges with their credit card company.

On any given order, only the initial delivery shipping charges will be waived off by Precision Auto Parts and will not be billed to the purchaser provided; the delivery address is a commercial address accessible by a semi-trailer truck. A shipping fee will apply to all residential address deliveries. The purchaser is responsible for all return shipping. Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.

The purchaser hereby understands that due to the nature of used auto parts, any liability of Precision Auto Parts from all causes shall be limited to the price paid for the goods sold or provided. If a part sold by Precision Auto Parts is defective, liability shall be limited to the replacement of the part or a remedy not to exceed the price paid for the part and Precision Auto Parts discretion.

All deposits made to reserve or hold any part are non-refundable.  An ASE- certified mechanic must install engines and transmissions at a licensed automotive repair facility.  Incorrectly ordered parts or canceled orders for any reason are the customers’ responsibility. Refunds or credits are not allowed, under any circumstances, for returned engines and transmissions not in their original assembled condition as shipped to the purchaser.

The purchaser must self-accrue and remit use tax due on all purchases for which sales tax has not been collected by Precision Auto Parts.

We will not be liable to you for any incidental special or consequential damages of any kind that may result from the use of or inability to use our goods or service. Our maximum liability to you under all circumstances will be equal to the purchase price you pay for any goods or services.

You agree to indemnify, defend land hold us and our partners, attorneys staff, and affiliates collectively affiliated parties harmless from any liability loss claim and expense, including reasonable attorney’s fees related to your violation of this agreement.

DISCLAIMER

  • Our units (used engine transmission axle, etc) may come with wear parts and accessories but are not guaranteed in the sale. They will need to be replaced before installation.
  • Common items that are not guaranteed include but not limited to nuts, bolt links, seal bushings, ball joints, brackets bezels, wiring cables, sensors, and other accessories, depending on the part.
  • We cannot guarantee the color of any part we sell. The purchased item may need to be repainted, refinished, or reupholstered for proper color match.
  • Mileage is not guaranteed and is correct to the best of our knowledge. The typical delivery time is 7 to 14 working days. Unusual circumstances may require additional time.
  • Residential deliveries incur additional shipping charges unless alternatives are prearranged.
  • OEM parts are interchangeable with multiple years’ makes and models; thus, the same part is an exact fit for various makes and models as determined by OEM standards. We guarantee the part we sell to fit your vehicle.
  • Precision Auto Parts reserves the right to refuse to process any transaction and to cancel any order at its sole discretion. 

DISPUTE RESOLUTION

All disputes between the parties that may arise in connection with this agreement shall be finally settled by non-appealable arbitration with one arbitrator in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association in Rhode Island, and each party here, too, shall be bound by the results of such proceedings. If traveling to Rhode Island is a burden, you may participate in the arbitration by phone or via document submission to the fullest extent the arbitrator allows. Each party will bear their own costs of arbitration unless the arbitrator directs that bearing such costs would be an undue burden. And in that case, we will pay for your portion of the arbitration administrative costs but not your attorney’s fees. You agree to resolve any disputes related to the use thereof and or this agreement as an individual and not as a class or join any class. You understand that in return for agreement to this provision and the dispute provision above, we are able to offer the services at the terms designated and that your assent is an indispensable consideration to this agreement. You also acknowledge and understand that concerning any dispute with Precision auto parts are officers, directors, employees, agents, or affiliates arising out of or relating to your use of our service product or this agreement, you are giving up your right to have a trial by jury, and you are giving up your right to serve as a representative as a private attorney general or in any other representative capacity or to participate as a member of a class of claimants in any lawsuit involving any such dispute. 

LAW AND VENUE CHOICE

  • All questions concerning or legal matters concerning the construction, interpretation validity, and enforceability of this agreement, whether in a court of law or arbitration, shall be governed by construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the state of Rhode Island without giving effect to any choice or conflict of law provision or rule that would cause the laws of any other jurisdiction.
  • Any action or arbitration regarding this agreement or arising out of its terms and conditions shall be instituted and prosecuted only in Providence County. Rhode Island.
  • No party to this agreement will challenge the jurisdiction or venue provisions as provided in this section.

PRIVACY POLICY 

Precision Auto Part certifies that your information is safe and secure when making transactions over the Internet through this Internet privacy statement. We want to reassure our customers that any personal information collected will not be used in a manner different than as outlined in this internet privacy statement. We use payment processors, customer service providers, and freight delivery companies to assist us with order management and fulfillment. We share with them only the information necessary to enable payment processing and fulfillment and delivery of goods. Our users’ personal information will not be shared, sold, or rented to any organization outside of Precision auto parts and our financial and order fulfillment affiliates. Precision auto parts will send regular transactional communications via phone call/text or email. They will occasionally send our customers announcements and updates containing important information that we believe will be of value to them. Our customers can always opt-in / out and update their communication preferences by emailing us at feedback@precisionautoparts.us . We stand by our warranties and ensure our valued customers are at ease when purchasing auto parts from us.
